Gauges show overheating condition, water pump good thermostat replaced

Hello, If the gauge is showing that the engine is overheating, but the coolant temperature sensor is showing that the engine is at normal operating temperature, you have a couple possibilities. The gauge could have failed, or there could be damaged wiring for the instrument cluster. Without staring down the wiring diagram, those two seem the most logical, but you will need further diagnostics to determine the cause.
