Rack and pinion-Mercury Mountaineer 2007

What is your question?

Replaced the rack and pinion due to a failed inspection. Went to pick up the vehicle and now my horn blows when I turn my wheel to the left. Is this related to the rack and pinion replacement? Could an incorrectly replaced rack and pinion cause the clock spring to fail?

How long has your 2007 Mercury Mountaineer had this problem?

Noticed it after picking my vehicle up and it was mentioned to the service technician
