The ABS light comes on and makes the braking process eradic.

You need to have the ABS trouble codes retrieved with a full scanner not just a OBD2 generic code reader. Once you post the codes here we can help you. Based on the little info that you have given, if I were to guess I would guess the speed sensor on the rear differential. Not hard to change but this is a guess. Lets try to test not guess.
no sensor cleaning, just replacement after determining the ac voltage output. make sure the toner ring is not broken on the axle. Roy

remove the sensors and see if theres metal shavings on the sensor. if there is, blow the shavings off and replace it. ive seen that happen alot with metallic brake pads. the metal from the pads builds up on the sensor. if that doesnt work. then the sensor might need replacing
