What is your question?
Overheated, changed thermostat. Drove a few times without burping system.(didn't realize this step). Overheats 2 more times before burping system and adding proper fluid amounts. Now leaking frequently from about dashboard or so back seems like. Adding water/coolant daily. Not overheating though.now sqeeling belt also.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Adding water/coolant daily

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Uh oh! I'm Sorry to hear about the coolant leak. Good job taking care of the thermostat, though! If your Mountaineer is leaking coolant but not overheating, here's what might be happening. The overheating could have caused or exacerbated a leak in the cooling system. Since the leak seems to be around the dashboard area, it could be related to the heater core or a nearby hose. Check the hoses going into the firewall or look for any hoses running to the back of the engine. Pressure testing the system will tell you where the leak is. The squealing belt might indicate that coolant has leaked onto it, causing it to slip, or it could just need to be replaced. If you have any other questions, please call us at 877-913-1554!
