Do you need to replace rear axle if the seal is leaking

The axle seal for each rear axle should not have a bearing on the axle shaft, unless the shafts themselves are causing an abrasion on the seal as they are inserted into the differential assembly. If it would be a "repeat repair" issue, then maybe. But to replace axle shafts solely due to leaking seals -- not so much.
