Water pump rotation

Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. With your 1999 Mercury Mountaineer the crankshaft harmonic balancer rotates clockwise if standing in front of the vehicle looking at it. With the water pump being directly above it and how your belt is routed this would allow your water pump to turn counter clockwise with the engine running.
