what would cause a missfire on one side if the motor

Rough idle...clattering noise...misfire... Sounds like your cam chain tensioners are failed and/or the cam chain guides are faulty. Extremely common for this engine. Not a quick or simple repair, unfortunately. Requires some tear down to inspect and repair, in the timing cover area to the cylinder heads. Good luck.

do compression test coz u may have valve seal prob or head gaskets going bad
