Tried turning off with key but all it does is act like it works but doesn't turn vehicle off what u think is wrong?

Need to get it looked at. Could be a failed ignition switch, issue with the fuse box, etc. Try a local shop near you! http://repairpal.com/mercury-within-10-miles-of-bryan-texas-77808
Try using the tilt wheel moving it up and down when it stays running
