automatic door locks don't lock when i put car in gear. 2007 mercury montego .

2007 mercury montego premier will not automatic lock when I put car in drive. I have to press the lock switch on the door panel.The fob to open and lock the doors works fine. I previously had a 2007 montego for 10 years: the doors always locked when I put the car in drive.
