Won’t start, just ticks and airbag sensor light stays on, hybrid

Won’t start, just loud ticking and airbag sensor light displays and stays on but none of the other usual dashboard icons appear. It is a 2011 hybrid with 136K miles. This is first time this has ever happened. It has been creaking recently over bumpy roads and wheels have a small shimmy.
