What is your question?
I have replaced both camshaft intake sensors and my car is okay once I clear the code but then if I need to step on the gas or accelerate fast, the code comes back on and I get no acceleration and no power and I feel like my gas is getting burned up fast also what else can I do? I'm on disability so I can't afford a new car. I'm getting code saying camshaft intake bank 1 retarded..
What makes this problem better or worse?
Better when car is warm
How long has your 2008 Mercury Milan had this problem?

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. You did not indicate which engine is in this vehicle, so I'm going to go with the 3.0L V6 as a guess. Either way it's the same bit of information, just for two banks instead of only one. I am assuming the code that is setting is P0012. This might sound oversimplified, but have you checked the engine oil level? Has the oil and filter been changed recently? This code can be set when there is not sufficient oil flow to the variable camshaft timing solenoid / valve. That's the simplest thing to address. It can get more complicated such as having a faulty camshaft phaser. This is unfortunately not an easy diagnosis and requires hands on testing with diagnostic equipment and workshop manual handy for a skilled technician. Sounds like you've gone as far as you can go by replacing the sensors. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
