What is your question?
Car is in limp mode now and won’t go in drive or reverse. Was told it was my transmission position sensor and I can’t figure out where it is located.

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Mariner. The transmission position sensor—also known as the transmission range sensor or neutral safety switch—is located inside of the transmission in this case, right where the shift linkage connects. To access it, you will have to remove the main transmission control cover. It's possible this sensor is faulty or not reading correctly due to a wiring issue or misalignment. There could also be a mechanical failure in the shift linkage. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
