Why when i turn the key it won't turnover or crank or even click?

Lights and everything still come on. They dont dim at all when i try to start it. But it wont start or even crank or click. I drove it all afternoon no problem and after i got home and it was parked for 10 to 15 minutes. Would not start and hasnt started since.

What makes this problem better or worse?
