Occasionally Flashing Transaxle light

What is your question?

Just purchased a 2000 Mercury Cougar. Seems to run great, but starting making a slight almost noise almost like a rock in the tires, and then the transaxle light flashed. When I stopped and restarted the car it went off and hasn't come back on. Should I be worried.
