My daughter recently bought a used cougar and installed a "system" in it. Now the lights are dimming. She has a new battery and a new alternator. The system was intalled professionally, and they say its not the system. Does anyone have this problem. I hope this car is not gonna be one problem after another!

Your daughter should install a capacitor to her system if she hasn't already. The system is probably pulling to much voltage.
if you also have an amp you will need to get a bigger power wire to connect the amp to the battery... if no amp then you just need to pull the radio out and check the red wire on the back of the radio and make sure it is connected and taped all the way with not wires out if it touches ANYTHING it will cause all lights to dim because of a bad connection then things will start blowing... radio...fuses...let me know if you need anymore assistance
capacitor yes. check for shorts yes. but the main thing you should do with it is install a larger alternator to handle the more power demands. a higher amperage alternator will suffice
