gear shift stuck

There is no emergency release button; rather turn the key to the notch prior to the on position (before the dash lights come on...), and you will be able to release it there. Don't forget to check your brake lights -- they probably don't work either! You likely have a brake light switch fault or wiring connector issue at the switch.
