Hello, The oil can go three places, the ground, which you have already covered, the engine cooling system, though you would also have coolant in your engine oil, and lastly, the tailpipe. When piston rings, valve seals, or the head gasket allows oil to leak into the combustion chamber, the oil is burned off as gasoline. The engine needs to be compression tested, and if you post the values here I'll give you some feedback on them.
