the automatic transmission does not shift, why?

There are 2 different sensors on the capri automatic transmission.One is the speed sensor, which tells it when to shift, then there is the range sensor, which tells it when what gear you are in. these other tards that responded with go to a transmission shop, or it's transmission problems, needed top be screened. Especially the one with the advertisement.I have the same problem and am looking for the location of the sensor that is insatlled on the model with factory cruise control.

you need a diagnostic test, bring it to any local Aamco transmission in your area.

possible issue with transmission

Is check engine light on? Fluid level OK? Will it move in first and reverse normally? Poss. trans. issue, suggest bring to aamco for free diag & est.
