My Mercedes SL500 with 44000 miles , the light came on yesterday "ABC"

Hi, Thanks for responding. Yes , yesterday when I got in the car at noon the ABC light came on in red. I drove it about 2 miles to Auto Hans where I've taken the car before. He said " it needs a new steering pump. they just wear out after a while and need to be replaced. " I am getting the impression that the labor is about 600$ and the part is about 1100 to 1600 $ so the 2150 he is asking is pretty "normal". I have to take what mechanics tell me at face value since I don't have any knowledge of car mechanics. Thanks again. I'll call you next time something goes wrong.
