Why is my mercedes benz sl500 not starting after driving for two days and now wont start anymore new battery just installed trasmision sounds like a short around the igntion switch around the the front of the key entrance

Car ran good after replacing the trasmision for awile fluid could be a little low but now car will not start at all please help
