It would be the old gas most likely. You need to siphon the tank and fuel system and put new gas in it. Don't take your chances with such an expensive engine. Old gas breaks down and won't burn like new gas does. That is why it is shutting down. You are basically just diluting the new gas by adding that to old gas. If you leave the car sit for a long period of time, try to run the gas tank as far down as you can and add new gas to it and run the engine every month or so at the very least to keep the fuel system and engine in proper running condition.
