Why won't car go out of park?

Often times, an inability to get the car out of the park position is due to a malfunction of the shift lever interlock, which is often related to the brake light switch. When the shift lever lock sees your foot on the brake, it releases the shift lever. Do you have brake lights when you step on the brake? If not, this is the area you should check into.
