what causes the car not to start?

The battery is charged and the only thing that comes on is the radio. when i insert the key no sound comes through the dash and the car wont start and the steering wheel isnt locked. do i have to check the fuses or do i have to get a new ingnation mod for the car?

What makes this problem better or worse?

its not doing anything
