What is your question?
When I am driving my 2006 R350 I hear howling noise on my front wheel, I took it to the dealership and was told to replace the left bearing for $800. I took it to an independent garage and was charged $500 for the job. The problem did not go away, I still could hear the noise. I took it to another Mercedes dealer and was told that either they did not install it properly, I went back to the independent garage shop and they did replace the Hub again and still the noise persisted. I am confused, I did replace the front tires but still the noise did not go away

ISN'T YOUR R350 ALL-WHEEL DRIVE? IT SOUNDS TO ME AFTER ALL THOSE REPAIRS YOU COULD HAVE A BAD BEARING IN THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL GROWLING.I WOULD HAVE THE FLUID CHECKED FOR METAL IN THE OIL.OR AT LEAST HAVE THE REPAIR SHOP USE SOME KING OF LISTENING DEVICE ON THE FRONT DIFF.TO CONFIRM WHAT I'M SAYING.
It is not 4matic, I took it back to the dealership again and I was told that the differential gear is damaged also, they said it is a sealed differential and I have to replace the whole unit for $4300, and also the hub bearing wasn't done properly, what advice can you give, Can't I get a used differential gear for my R350
yeah you can get a used diff, but you have to find a shop that will install it for you. we use a company called LKQ, they seem to have good low mile stuff. like motors, trans, and diffs. i hope this helps you. P.S. your van is all wheel drive.
