What is your question?
I have a small amount of smoke coming from the driver side of the block around where I believe is the manifold. I recently changed my water pump three days ago, but haven't been able to start the truck up until today, because the battery was dead. When I start the truck it doesn't smoke, but when I press on the gas pedal a bit, it starts to smoke.
What makes this problem better or worse?
When I press the gas, is when it starts to smoke

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Smoke is not what you wanted to see after replacing the water pump! Hopefully, it's no biggie, though! The smoke could be due to residual oil or coolant from the recent repair. Check for any leaks around the manifold or gasket. Ensure all connections are tight. If the smoke persists, it might indicate a more significant issue, such as a leaking gasket or seal. Clean the affected area and see if the smoke comes back. If it does, you might have a leak!
