If your horn is sounding off intermittently, the culprit is often a faulty horn switch, clock spring, or relay. On your ML430, the horn fuse is located in the engine room fuse block. I don't recommend removing the fuse as it will fully disable the horn but it doesn't hurt to check that it is fully intact. Your owner’s manual should have a diagram that will give the exact fuse location and amperage.
