Hi, there's nothing "normal" about a failure of any component. However, air conditioning systems can fail due to multiple causes. Physical damage to the condenser could cause a leak, causing insufficient refrigerant for cooling. The air conditioning compressor could stop doing it's job, or the clutch and coil for the compressor could become inoperative. There's a cycle switch that can fail, and even the climate control inside the vehicle could have a fault causing it to not properly call for cold air when desired. There can be other component leaks as well causing loss of refrigerant. The only thing that can be done is testing - to find out what is causing the problem so it can be resolved. Testing must be performed by a technician with EPA Section 609 refrigerant handling certification. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
