I have been told that my car has an issue with the intake manifold.

Unfortunately its fairly common problem , The linkage for the flaps is plastic and it breaks There is an aftermarket repair kit available but we recommend replacing the intake manifold complete because other components inside are also made of plastic and tend to fail , if the intake breaks internally it could cause damage to the engine , The manifold is very expensive part is about $1,200.00 plus labor about 3-4 hours
