What is your question?
2002 Mercedes-Benz ML320 Sport with all the bells and whistles: Left sunroof open and it rained on center console. Took to get repaired and it was fine for a week. Electrical (dash screen, radio and cd) was working, but radio would short out (while driving) and I would have to turn it off and then on again to get it to work. Then, it started whining while driving. Then when I tried to put it in park, the gear shift stopped at reverse ( almost like it was stuck or something was keeping if from shifting to park) and I would have to turn the car off, THEN it would let me put the car in park. The whining noise is accompanied by vehicle hitting 4 rpm while driving 25 mph. The shop I took it to for the water damage said it'd be another $1500.00 just to look at it and it's been sitting for a year because there isn't another Mercedes-Benz mechanic in the area.
How long has your 2002 Mercedes-Benz ML320 had this problem?
Car has been sitting for a year

Unfortunately, this is probably all reasonable and accurate. There's nothing cheap here -- you do need a qualified, skilled technician to look into all your concerns, and it seems like a fair amount of disassembly may be required to get to the root of all your concerns. My only suggestion would be to find another shop to reach out to -- but you mention that there aren't any?
