I have a 2000 ml320 was driving on the highway when all of a sudden my red battery light on the right lower side of dash came on then my car radio shut down and then everything shut down. Got a tow to a friends we charged up battery enough to start and take of positive to know we needed a new alternator. got a new alternator. the car still wouldn't start. It had power everything was on but no start just one click but all power still on. So bought a new battery. Still the same thing no start just turn the key and once click sound. so I have a new alternator and new battery. I am stumped what to do next. please help me. Hello, It's really impossible to guess or give any tips without some hands on testing. The only thing - if you have a new battery that is properly connected and fully charged - that would prevent the vehicle from cranking over is if you had a blown fuse related to the starting system, or if the starter motor suddenly was also suspect. This is highly doubtful, coincidental-wise. So, first, verify your new battery is fully charged, verify all fuses are intact, and verify that all connections are proper and secure.
