ESP means electronic stability program, it usually comes on together with BAS which means anti-lock braking system. these systems work hand in hand and that's why the lights likely come on together. The purpose of these systems is to lock/slow-down your wheels/tires during slippery conditions when some tires may be spinning faster than others. When this light comes on it may mean that your car has a fault in that system and needs to be taken to the workshop for diagnosis and correction. Some times the system corrects itself and turns the light off by default. However, if it persists you need to correct it with the mechanic. Sometimes it lights after changing the brake discs or pads and has to be corrected by the diagnostics. Research has shown that a well functioning BAS/ESP system reduces the likelihood of accidents by about 30% as it also prevents your car from skidding when you hit your brakes hard suddenly. When its faulty, trust me you will skid and this can be dangerous as you may lose control
Its like a mental telepathy thing like mind reader, You never heard some one say "your reading my mind , i think You got esp"...i dont know why your car would be telling you that??
