What is your question?
My 1999 Mercedes ML320 after a long drive(1hr or more) and after engine turn off and restart. However, if I let the engine cool down it USUALLY shifts fine. Almost no problems during cold days or winter time In the morning I usually wait for engine idle for 1 minutes for the gear to engage from 1st to 2nd gear. Sometimes it works just fine without engine idling for 1 minutes. I've been driving with this condition for the last 4 years. Any ideas what's wrong? Thanks.
How long has your 1999 Mercedes-Benz ML320 had this problem?
A few years

You need to start with scanning the transmission module for trouble codes. This could be a valve body, conductor plate or TCU issue but a hands-on inspection is needed to be sure. Use this link to find a good shop near you. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops Alex
