Why does my car shake when I step on the accelerator and when it changes gears?

As I just begin driving my Mercedes and gradually step on the accelerator I feel shaking or heavy vibration, this also occurs when I increase the speed and when the speed is coming down. I feel it intermittingly as in when the car changes gears.

If the engine light flashes during the symptom, it implies an engine misfire. If not, you may have a drivetrain issue. Scanning the control modules for event data, road testing, and an on lift inspection will allow a qualified technician to determine what's wrong.
It may be several things have the car inspected by a shop familiar with Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Possible causes include mounts, suspension, transmission or transfer case problems.. This type of symptom is impossible to properly diagnose without road testing the vehicle. If we can help give us a call.

It's actually a vehicle I want to purchase, there are no lights on. The dealers mechanic said he noticed the problem and put it on the diagnostic machine and it did not detect anything. I was wondering if they were trying to cover a major problem with the vehicle. I am suppose to go back there Saturday to see if it has been fixed.
