'CHECK ENGINE' Lights require resetting. This requires the proper tool. DisConnecting the Battery will not clear it. If your repairs did fix why the 'CHECK ENGINE' was on, the vehicle will see this over time and the light will go out, but the faults will remain in the database. Also, if there is another issue, your light will remain on.
