The air filter is located inside the air filter housing. First remove the fancty plastic trim in front of the housing with the MB emblem on it and V6 etc; it unfastens. Then unfasten the two air intakes coming from the housing; then pull up on the housing until it is comes off, you may need a little muscle. When you remove the filter housing turn it upside down and you will find two air filters on each side under the air filter housing. I think you can take it from here. With the money you saved knowing how to do it yourself I would buy good quality filters. I hope this helped.
