Trunk release switch will not release. Unable to access trunk
How long has your 1999 Mercedes-Benz E320 had this problem?
Yesterday went and got $400 of frozen meats. Put it in the trunk when I reached my destination about 3 miles it would not open

Hello, You should have a keyed lock on the trunk, and that will allow you to open it with the hard key. If the key fob is working, check the fuse for the trunk release as well. If you have folding seats, you should be able to climb into the trunk to release the trunk lid as well. There is a known issue with wires becoming frayed and broken on the driver side of the trunk lid behind the trunk liner. the harness rubs against the hinge and causes damage over time. There are other possibilities, but this is what I would check after verifying my fuse is good.
