need to know if oil on tranny is correct how do i check level

You need to buy a special dipstick tool from Mercedes and then measure read the centimeters on it and then look up the spec. To access the transmission dipstick, you need to remove the engine cover and air filter. here is a link to a repair manual site that you can use to get the trans level spec. http://bit.ly/mitchell_repair_manuals_online
We had to buy the dipstick for checking the transmission from a dealer. It sells for about $100!! Worth having and keeping in your trunk though.
It is on the left top corner area, the stick with a red lock. Basically, there is no need to check or change unless the warning light is on. Which means the car needs service by a pro.
