How do I fix my 1996 Mercedes Benz E320 windshield wipers when car is turned on?

Hi Dave. The problem I'm having is that my windshield wiper turns on automatically when the car is started. When the wipers are turned on on the combination switch, they only work for 30 seconds at mainly one setting.

I'm sorry to say -- I can't really give you much more guidance. You'll need some hands on testing to determine the cause of the problem. I could guess that the switch is at fault, but I'd really like to look at the commands with a diagnostic tool and be able to prove it. Good luck!
