Hello, the rattle concerns me more than anything. Is the rattle engine bearing related, such as rod bearing for main bearing? "Til oil gets through the motor" is concerning, because it's not some kind of allowance to be provided - oil should be present immediately and wear should not occur causing noise. I would recommend having a technician near you observe this noise to get a sense of where it is originating from. If you have an internal engine noise -- this is something to consider before investing lots of money in the vehicle. What will it take to repair it? As far as the starter cranking the engine, it could be that there is an air-fuel-spark ratio concern that is preventing immediate starting.
