Yes sometimes it can take as many as 100 miles. Now if you want to be sure that your drive cycles are complete before going to emissions you can do this with a very cheap scanner. Even $20 scanners will show you if the monitors are ready yet. You can get one off Amazon or the local auto parts store might check for you too. Alex
