how to remove the front seat release lever on a2003 clk 320

Might be a crazy question, but have you removed the seats yet? I have reviewed in brief the shop manual instruction for removing the seat cushion, and there is no direction on the release lever -- which seems to indicate that it's not necessary to remove that part. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the seat first hand, but shop manuals are usually great reference materials. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
