The humming-squeal starts after the car has been driven for different amount of times. It starts softer, then builds louder, then softens. It can happen more than once on any drive. It can start after the car has been turned off. Haven't noticed any leaks.
How long has your 1998 Mercedes-Benz CLK320 had this problem?
I have owned this CLK 320 1997 model for more than a year and the issue is getting worse.

Hello, I don't know of anything that would still be running while the engine is off, except for perhaps an electric cooling fan. The most important thing with any concern - especially a noise - is to duplicate the concern during a hands on inspection. Once observed it should be relatively easy for a professional to determine the source of the noise.
