How do i reset computer to recognize new/used starter switch?

There is a major difference between the 2003 and 2006 model C-class. Engine, transmission and communication protocols changed in 2006. It might plug right into but might not be the correct part number. A used one from a 2006 or 2007 can be installed but the best thing would be to get a new one along with a new key.
