i had a new key made so its not the key ...it still wouldnt turn.. checked battery thats fine .. what else could it be???

Is the steering wheel locked tightly? Sometimes you may need to wiggle the steering wheel to get the key to turn. Other than that, if you're certain the key is the proper cut, the ignition cylinder could be at fault. Also, ensure your shift lever is showing "Park" position.
