My door open display light is on but my doors are closed. Can your battery die?

It usually happens if car sits for a couple days. I have a new battery. No interior lights are on when I open doors unless they have blew from the malfunction of the open door display. Never really notice if the interior lights were on or off cause I'm usually in by night. They do not come on though.
