Ah, the classic "my fuel gauge has a mind of its own" trick. If your gauge isn't budging when you add gas, it’s likely an issue with the fuel sending unit. That little gadget sits in your gas tank and tells the gauge how much fuel you’ve got. Sometimes, the float can get stuck, or the unit can just give up the ghost. Since this just started, it might be a temporary glitch. Try driving around a bit, hit a few bumps (safely, of course) to see if it gets unstuck. If it's still acting stubborn, the wiring or connections to the sending unit might be loose or corroded. A quick inspection can sometimes reveal the problem. Worst case, the sending unit might need replacing, which means dropping the fuel tank—a bit of a job but nothing a good mechanic can't handle. Good luck!
