That particular car (personal favorite) is known for transmission issues. Not to say that some aren't easy, it could be a simple leak causing a low fluid condition and not enough pressure to engage the next gear. Best advice, check for a leak first, but have someone work on the car that knows Mercedes and has access to good parts. Worth it in the long run.
