Does the cross member need removed to pull the oil pan?

"Cross member" - no mention of that in the workshop manual. Torsion bar, yes. Exhaust to powertrain brackets - yes. Motor mounts, loosened. Engine raised. This is not a job easily done without having the proper facility of a repair shop.
