WE RECENTLY (TODAY) HAD THE PCU REPLACED ON OUR 2005 MAZDA TRIBUTE. WE NOTED THAT A FORD PART WAS USED. WHAT IS THE PART NUMBER FOR THE PCU IN A 2005 MAZDA TRIBUTE WITH A 3.0 LITER V6. WHAT IS THE WHOLESALE AND RETAIL COST OF A REMANUFACTURED PCU FOR THE ABOVE VEHICLE. OUR MAZDA TRIBUTE HAS 86,000 MILES ON IT. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE PCU WAS WATER DAMAGED. IS WATER DAMAGE A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON 2005 MAZDA TRIBUTES?

the part number is on your old pcm. that is the way you identify the part number. ford makes mazda parts, thats why you have part numbers. no, it is not a common occurance either. if it is water damaged, make sure you fix the water leak. pcm run anywhere from 400 to 800. then you need it flashed and road tested for about 150-200.
