I just bought a 2004 Mazda Tribute. It has been working fine until yesterday. Wouldnt go faster the 80 down the highway. The engine makes a weird noise.

Hello, ensure that you are in the "Drive" gear of course. If the engine is revving to it's maximum speed, you could have a loud noise. I would recommend having someone local road test with you to give you advice on what to do next.
